Update 3/21 : Maeve is a popular girl so at this point there are so many apps for this sweet girl we are no longer taking applications for her. We would be happy to work with you to find the right dog for your family. We have many dogs waiting to come in the rescue.
Update 3/13/2020 :We have now listed Maeve as not good with cats because she tends to bark at and fixate on the cat.
Update 2/25/2020 from Maeve's Foster : Maeve is a recent addition to the ASR family. Why, you ask, would All Shepherd Rescue save a young girl who probably has no shepherd in her bloodline? The answer is simple – this adorable girl’s time was growing short in the shelter and we knew we had to help. We’re not sure what she is mixed with (maybe golden, boxer and beagle?) but we do know that whatever the combination, Maeve is an extremely sweet happy pup. Initially, Maeve is on the shy side. She warms up quickly, and then transforms into a bouncy happy girl. We don’t know what her background was but she settled into life in her foster home with ease. Beautiful Maeve is on the quiet side – for the most part, a well behaved girl, although, she will steal things that belong to her foster mom (socks, pillows, etc) if she isn’t watched. She is very gentle and loveable, recently realizing that belly rubs are the best. Her discovery of the toy box has been so much fun to watch. She has pulled out every dog toy in the box and checked each one out. So far, squeaky toys and antlers seem to be at the top of her LOVE list. She is learning to walk on leash and has made great strides in a few days. Maeve is crate trained, although her preference is to be near her people. She takes treats gently and seems to be food motivated. Maeve is looking for a loving family who will help her learn and grow. Maeve is arriving Friday and is one of the lucky ones, she was rescued from a chronically over crowded shelter. The shelter manager told us she is a bit quiet--but who wouldn't be , in a loud scary shelter when you're just a baby ? Maeve warms up slowly but once she is safe in her foster home we know we will begin to see the real personality of this precious girl . More to come once she is here with us . **When applying to adopt one of our puppies, please remember this: Up to the age of 8 months old, puppies cannot be left alone for a standard work day. Arrangements will have to be in place for 4 hour intervals until the pups are at least 8 months old. Having someone with them every 4 hours until they are older greatly facilitates the housebreaking process If you are not yet approved to adopt from All Shepherd Rescue, please fill out our online application at www.allshepherdrescue.com. Our adoption fee is $300.00.
